Michael D. Ruffalo MBA, E.A.

Michael D. Ruffalo MBA, E.A. is Managing Director of The Business Development Company (BDC) and has over 15 years experience in consulting, financial management, and corporate finance. He brings a mix of finance, accounting, and strategy skills to BDC.

Prior to joining BDC, Michael was Chief Financial Officer for multiple growth-oriented, middle-market companies. At these companies, Michael helped establish and refine financial and accounting infrastructure, controls, processes, and systems.

Additionally, Michael helped evaluate mergers/acquisitions and other funding requirements. Michael also worked as a strategy consultant for a number of firms, including Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), Gemini Consulting, and Renaissance Worldwide. As a consultant, he helped Fortune 500 companies across a number of industries with a variety of strategic and financial initiatives. Some of his work included: shareholder value analysis, strategic/start-up business planning, and activity based cost analysis.

Michael holds a B.A. in Economics with Highest Distinction from The University of Michigan and an MBA in Finance, Accounting, and Strategy with High Honors from The University of Chicago. He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
